Child friendly version

Hi there!

We want you to feel safe when you visit our website or join in with our skateboarding activities. That’s why we’ve made this easy-to-understand guide about what information we collect from you, and how we keep it safe.

💡 What is “personal information” and what do we collect?

Personal information is anything that can tell someone who you are. We might collect:

  • Your name and age (so we know who’s skating and how old you are).

  • Your parent or carer’s contact info (like email and phone) so we can get in touch if needed.

  • Emergency contact details – just in case!

  • Your booking info – like which class or event you joined.

  • Website stuff – like what pages you visit, so we can make our website better.

We do not collect anything like passwords, school details, or private messages.

🧾 Why do we collect this information?

We only collect your information to:

  • Sign you up for skating lessons or events

  • Help keep you safe during sessions

  • Let your grown-ups know what’s going on

  • Send emails about things you (or your parent/carer) said you’re interested in

  • Understand how people use our website and how we can improve it

We never collect more than we need. We’ll never use your info for anything silly like sending you ads or sharing it with strangers

👀 Who sees your information?

Only people who need to see it – like the Skate Hub team. Sometimes we share it with:

  • Our website helpers (to keep things working properly)

  • Trusted services (like payment systems)

  • Emergency contacts (if something important happens)

We NEVER sell your information or share it with strangers

🧒 Special rules for children

If you’re under 13:

  • We will only collect your info if your parent or guardian says it’s OK

  • We keep your info safe and private

  • We never send marketing emails to children under 13

  • We only use your info to run your skate sessions and keep you safe

  • Your grown-up can ask us to delete your info at any time

🌍 Where is it kept?

Your information is stored safely, either in the UK or with secure computer systems we trust. We do everything we can to keep it safe

🧹 How long do we keep it for?
  • We keep your info only as long as we need to

  • If you stop coming, we’ll delete or hide your info after a while

  • You (or your grown-up) can ask us to remove your info any time

🗣️ What are your rights?

You (and your grown-up) can:

  • Ask what information we have about you

  • Ask us to fix anything that’s wrong

  • Ask us to delete your info

  • Say “no” to marketing emails

  • Say “stop” if you’re not happy with how we use your info

Just tell us, or ask a grown-up to contact us using the details below!

🍪 What about cookies?

Our website uses little computer tools called cookies. They help us remember things (like if you’re logged in or which pages you visit). You can block cookies if you want - ask an adult to help you

We keep your info only for as long as we need to run your skate sessions, camps, or events. After that, we delete it safely

🧑‍⚖️ Your rights (and your grown-up’s too!)

You or your parent/carer can:

  • Ask what info we have about you

  • Ask us to correct or delete your info

  • Say "no thanks" to emails or messages

  • Complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) if something isn’t right – but we hope you never need to!
